Was very surprised to find this year’s wet hop beer in from MI here in Philly. My friend is a big fan so I was excited to try it.
Look: Clear, pale straw coloured beer. Not much in the way of head, no lacing.
Aroma: Got a bit of a whiff of white wine about it as well as citrus and biscuit malt. There’s a lot of grass too.
Taste: Really fresh tasting hoppy beer. Finish is a little claggy, but still good and bitter. A really tasty beer.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation,
Picture fail, no idea where the image for this one went.
Overall: Reminds me intensely of the Kernel IPAs which is a real surprise. I love those but they aren’t really in the American style, so to find an American beer that tastes the same is just curious.
I never expect to be able try this beer again, but if I saw it I would pick it up. In the mean time I’ll just have to stick with the Kernels. /5
