I don’t actually understand the “Magic Hat on Tour” series. I don’t think I’m being willfully thick, but it doesn’t really seem to mesh in my head with my ideas of beer. Gigs are about rubbish beer and enjoying the music, drinking nice beer is about enjoying the beer. I couldn’t imagine going to a gig and wasting money on a top quality beer if I wasn’t paying attention to it.
Apparently “Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation”. We’ll see.
Look: Pale straw coloured beer with little head and no lacing.
Aroma: Smells like wine and pine .
Taste: Reasonably nice hoppy flavours that match the nose, light fruit and pine. Unremarkable finish.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation, bit watery

Overall: A bit thin, but overall a reasonable American IPA. There’s really nothing amazing going on here to especially recommend it though. I’d have thought if you were going to do a limited run, you’d be in the position to take a few risks, but this beer feels distinctly safe. Won’t be hurrying to find it again. /5
